We’ve passed this restaurant many times before. Each time, I’d tell hubby that we should check out the food there. But since Georgetown isn’t really on our way, we keep forgetting. However, this isn’t a post on how we forgot to visit them yet again. This time, we finally did!
It was a busy night when we went there, but we got seated pretty quickly.
Here’s the cover of the menu with the address, phone number and hours. In case you want to check it out.
This was my sandwich – Pokey’s Smoked Pulled Pork served on a grilled bun with homemade chips, pickles and cole slaw.
Hubby ordered their Famous Smoked Platter with brisket and ribs, rice, beans, collard greens with cornbread. There was a choice of BBQ sauces: Classic, Honey, Chipotle, White and Mustard. The Chipotle sauce won his vote for the night.
One picture of BBQ is not enough. Here’s another one.
Verdict: Service was pretty efficient. Our food server was very gracious, given it was a busy night. As for the barbecue, the three items we tried – pulled pork, brisket and ribs – all passed our taste test. All three were moist and juicy. It’s up to you if you want to pour sauce on it or not. Oh, and check out that beautiful bark on the ribs! Gorgeous, right? I’m glad that we finally went to Wire Mill. We found another place for barbecue close enough to us, apart from Hoodoo Brown BBQ!

It was great that we finally got around to going there!
