If you’ve never been to Old Saybrook, Connecticut, then here’s one good reason to visit. How about relaxing and unwinding in a historic coastal country inn on the Connecticut shoreline?
Saybrook Point recently opened their new Tall Tales luxury guesthouse in Old Saybrook right next door to their historic Three Stories guesthouse. Overlooking the Long Island Sound, Tall Tales is a new Victorian-era Italianate-style home with private balconies, secluded gardens and common areas with traditional billiards, classic games and timeless literature.
The guesthouse features six lovely rooms, each room with a private balcony, cozy fireplace, European bedding, fine hand-woven linens, extensive water views and original artwork by local artists. Each room is historically themed after notable figures in early American history and local lore such as Adriaen Block, Lion Gardiner, Maria Sandford, Barbara Maynard, General William Hart and Lady Alice Fenwick. Check out these photos of the rooms!
This is the dining room.
Stay tuned for my upcoming recap of Tall Tales Guest House, especially their restaurant Fresh Salt!
Rates start at $349. Reservations can be made by calling 860.395.2000 or by visiting www.saybrook.com.
