We spent the day at Queens Strawberry Farm with the family yesterday. Located in Alfonso, Cavite, it is a very family- and kid-friendly place. Even pets are welcome! It’s also great that they have alfresco dining.
We were supposed to eat inside their Queens Restaurant, but there were too many people for our comfort. Good thing they had outdoor seating – in the tented area near the fountains and up on the restaurant’s roof deck. We ended up in the tented area near the fountains.
We loved their Whole Roast Chicken and Vegetables and their Sinigang na Hipon paired with the refreshing Four Seasons Iced Tea.
For desserts, we chose their Strawberry Cheesecake and their Strawberry Chocolate Mousse because we were at a strawberry farm, after all. 🙂
I wished they offered strawberry iced tea, but they had Four Seasons Iced Tea.
Here are some more photos I took while walking around.
Here’s the fountain by the outdoor seating area.
Some flowers I came across.
The fish pond!
Verdict:
Some of us planned to eat inside Queens Restaurant, while the others planned to sit outside with the furbabies. However, it was crowded on the day of our visit, so we sat outside instead. Food-wise, we loved their Whole Roast Chicken and Vegetables and their Sinigang na Hipon, even their Strawberry Cheesecake and their Strawberry Chocolate Mousse.
A part of me wishes they fully embraced strawberries in their offerings. After all, it is a strawberry farm. They did well offering Strawberry Pork Ribs Sinigang, the Queens Strawberry Salad, the Queens Strawberry Milkshake, the Queens Strawberry Cheesecake, the Strawberry Chocolate Mousse, Queens Strawberry Buko Pie, Strawberry Bread Loaf, Strawberry Jam and the Strawberry Vinaigrette. How about adding strawberry pancakes, strawberry juices and shakes, strawberry ice cream, and even strawberry salsa to the mix? Then perhaps make strawberry glaze, strawberry sauce and strawberry BBQ sauce to slather on the mains?
Then there’s the Fishing Village, the presence of which confused me. A fishing village to catch live fish on a strawberry farm? Not quite what I expected. I imagined a farm like the ones we used to visit in the U.S. for strawberry picking, like the Jones Family Farms in Shelton, CT or Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT, or if here in the Philippines, La Trinidad Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad, Benguet. But this one wasn’t like any of those. Sadly, I hardly saw any strawberries, so perhaps it wasn’t the season for it when we went there.
The Queens Kids Playground with its kiddie rides, swing, seesaw, and inflatable slides occupy such a space in the farm. I wish it was a bit informative – featuring information on growing strawberries, etcetera – for the kids to learn from.
Nevertheless, Queens Strawberry Farm is a perfect day trip destination for families with children who will surely be entertained by what the farm offers. I’m glad that they also welcome furbabies and serve pretty good food.
