I conducted a mild spring cleaning of my RECIPES folder here in my computer last night. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a file named “BREAD PUDDING.doc”. It listed the ingredients, but unfortunately, that was the extent of the recipe. No procedure AT ALL.
Here’s the list:
- 1 loaf of bread
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup raisins
I preheated our oven to 350°F. I just guessed because that seems to be the generic temperature when baking. Then I cut up the bread into cubes, beat the eggs and melted the butter followed by stirring and mixed everything up in a big bowl. I baked it for 40 minutes. It tasted like how bread pudding should taste, although a little bit on the dry side. I’ll try to re-do this recipe the next time we have left-over bread.
