Azadore is Chef Tatung’s new baby in Quezon City! After we enjoyed the food at his Talisay The Garden Cafe, I wanted to see what Azadore has in store when I read about it.
The menu is a combination of Spanish and American food. While their tagline is “Romancing the Grill”, we didn’t order their grilled items. I was a woman with a mission, and I knew what I wanted – paella!
Azadore’s Paella Mixta (mixed paella) had chicken, shrimp, clam and chorizo that was so good with its perfectly crispy socarrat. Socarrat is that toasted leftover rice stuck on the bottom of the pan, what we call tutong here in the Philippines.
For starters, we also ordered their fresh and light Ceviche Mixto with squid, shrimp, tuna, Tigre de Leche sauce and corn nachos. So delightfully acidic!
Needless to say, we finished both the ceviche and the paella because why not?
We downed both dishes with the House Blend Iced Tea.
There is ample seating both indoors…
…and outdoors.
There are three function rooms – Paz, Juliana and Guillermo.
I actually saw Chef Tatung when he arrived. I even said hello and he nodded, then smiled in acknowledgment.
While they’re still on their soft opening, you won’t go home hungry or disappointed. Azadore’s food looks pretty and tastes lovely. When you come in hungry, you’ll leave satisfied.
Verdict: What a great use of an old house! Instead of demolishing it to create a new space, they transformed this old house into Azadore, a restaurant with much charm and charisma. That’s why adaptive reuse is an architectural movement I truly support. *thumbs up*
This mid-century family home converted into a modern restaurant doesn’t shy away from bold, vibrant colors with its 1950s bright red and black interiors decorated with artwork reminiscent of Joan Miró’s.
Each table had a white tablecloth, modern rattan chairs, red and blue water goblets, and black and white paper placemats.
Outside, they filled the courtyard with such greenery.
Azadore provides a feast both for your eyes and your stomach.
