It was our first time going to Prologue today. Our older sister was flying back to the U.S., so in our sadness, we headed to Prologue for lunch upon our mom’s suggestion. Prologue is actually a favorite of my mom and my younger sister. Hubby and I have been meaning to visit, but their parking lot was always full. Until today, that is. We finally got lucky.
Check out their menu.
This is bread baked in-house, so I give them a brownie point. I like restaurants that bake their own bread.
My sister ordered this creamy and flavorful Shiitake Mushroom Risotto with crispy bacon, asparagus, semi-dried cherry tomato, spring onion, garlic, parmesan, thyme and Italian parsley.
I was craving prawns, so I got this Nasi Goreng Prawn. It was a bit savory, a bit sweet with basil pesto, coconut, brown rice, spring onion, french beans, bean sprout, kecap manis and egg. Craving satisfied!
Our mom got this simple and comforting Potato Gnocchi with spinach, feta cheese, semi-dried cherry tomato, garlic, chili and shaved parmesan.
My husband got this Kimchi Rice and finished it so quickly. It has US Angus beef, brown rice, Korean seaweed, sesame and a sunny-side-up egg.
UPDATE! I went back to Prologue with my mom and my sister for brunch. Check out what we ate!
* Banana Caramel Soufflé Pancakes with Caramelized Banana, Cinnamon, Caramel Cream, Coconut Sugar, Cashew, Vanilla Ice Cream
* Three-Egg Omelette with Mushroom, Roasted Tomato, Green Salad and Rye Bread
* Smoked Bangus Rice with Bangus Belly, Brown Rice, Eggplant, Garlic, Scallion, Shallots, Pickled Vegetables
My mom had this Cafe Americano.
Verdict:
I must say, I like the industrial look of this restaurant. I found the bright, open space aesthetically pleasing.
Another thing I like about Prologue is that while the place itself is Instagrammable, the food they serve is delicious as well. My pet peeve is restaurants that focus too much on being Instagrammable, but forgetting that they are – first and foremost – a restaurant and thus, must serve good food. Prologue serves really delicious food in a casual yet pleasing environment that you won’t go home hungry or disappointed. If you’re curious about their menu, here’s the link to the Sct. Gandia branch menu.
