For this experiment, I went over far too many recipes – each recipe proclaiming it’s the best. I was leaning toward Jim Lahey’s recipe, but changed my mind after seeing pictures of his chocolate chip cookies. It looked too skinny for my liking. I wanted my first batch to be fat and fluffy.
Guess which recipe won? It was right in front of me all along.
On the back of the bag of Ghirardelli Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips, 12 Ounce was a very easy-to-follow, fool-proof recipe for the Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe! Simple, right? I love when things just work out.
I halved the ingredients and followed the instructions to a T. Result? Crisp edges and a soft center. Mmmm! By the way, with the one cup chocolate chips, I ended up using 1/3 cup of it to top the cookie dough balls. I probably should’ve used more, so I’ll definitely do that next time.
