We received a Hamilton Beach stand mixer when we got married. It was always stored in the pantry, unopened and unused. The hand mixer pretty much did what it could and did a pretty good job, so there really wasn’t any need to use the stand mixer. Until I started my baking experiments, of course.
Now I learned that our stand mixer wasn’t up to par. It broke down during my first attempt to make ensaymada today. Broke down as in it went “poof” followed by the smell of smoke. Now I’m panic-stricken. Now what?
