Can you believe that we are so close to the end of 2017 and the start of 2018?
I spent the first month of 2017 in the Philippines, discovering new restaurants and having a blast with family and friends. Now that we’re in the final stretch of 2017, we’ve been in deep freeze since Old Man Winter kicked in that I haven’t really gone out all that much. Staying indoors all bundled up has its charms, more so than braving the bone-chilling cold.
Nevertheless, it’s a good time as any to share with you, my dear readers, this year’s top five popular posts of 2017. Like my 2015 and 2016 posts, the popularity is based on page views, not comments, Facebook likes or shares.
Now here’s the top five. . .
1. 8 Delicious Spots for Lobster Rolls in Maine & Connecticut
In case you missed this blog post, I chose Maine and Connecticut because there are Maine-style lobster rolls and Connecticut-style lobster rolls. Finding places in Maine and Connecticut that offer excellent lobster rolls was no picnic. Since it’s this year’s most popular blog post, I’m happy that it was well worth the time and effort.
I visited Muddy Waters Cafe during a day trip to New London (you can read about it here). It was a bona fide local hang-out place where everyone seems to know everyone else.
3. Tipulo
You might’ve been to Antipolo, but you probably didn’t know Tipulo was in the area. It’s worth a look-see.
4. Abe’s Farm
Pampanga is apparently the Culinary Capital of the Philippines, although I have yet to do more culinary research to prove or disprove this claim. I have to say though, Abe’s Farm was a great way to jumpstart my inquiry.
After I blogged about the 8 Delicious Spots for Lobster Rolls in Maine & Connecticut, I received messages from people telling me to go to Lobster Landing in Clinton, CT. Thank goodness I followed their suggestion!
There you have it, the top five popular posts of 2017. What a great year it was for eating, drinking and blogging!
Here’s to more good food and drinks in 2018!
Those lobster rolls get my vote!
Amen to that!
Great places – there’s a reason why they’re your top five!
I remember enjoying the lobster roll post! It’s always fun to look back at the end of the year and see what was the most popular. 🙂
