Some days, it’s great when you find a random eating place that serves really good ramen. Kinda like this bowl here.
Located in a strip mall right across Ethan Allen in Hartsdale, NY was this gem of a find, Kishuya Ramen Noodle Bar. Since we never go past H-Mart, we have never seen this place until last Sunday.
We were seated quickly. In fact, they gave us a choice between bar stool seating overlooking the kitchen where the magic happens or the regular table. We opted for the latter.
Just look at this! It’s a tiny deep fryer pan holding the condiments in one place. So cute.
This Ramen Antipasto had thinly sliced yakibuta, menma, ni tamago, grilled tomato, chashu chicken, chashu pork topped with a balsamic glaze. It was enough to whet your appetite, not ruin it.
I am proud to say this bowl of Shoyu Tonkotsu was mine. It had Kishuya original seasoning soy sauce and tonkotsu (pork) broth, topped with pork chashu, ni tamago, naruto, menma, nori and scallion.
This bowl of Tantanmen was as spicy as the menu indicated. Which made hubby very, very happy. It had Kishuya original seasoning soy sauce and tonkotsu (pork) broth, temomi noodles topped with nikumiso, menma bokchoy, naruto and scallion.
For our dessert, we tried their Dorayaki Tempura. Dorayaki is red bean paste pancake. It was deep-fried and served with a scoop of green tea ice cream and blueberry coulis.
By the time we were done, the place had emptied out so I managed to take these pictures of the interior.
I love this light fixture.
Verdict: Kishuya is really a great discovery in Hartsdale, NY. Service was very friendly and attentive courtesy of our amiable server John who patiently answered my questions. Kishuya opened July last year.
With their heavenly bowls of perfectly portioned and seasoned hot ramen coupled with their delectable desserts, we enjoyed our meal in a casual ambiance and left Kishuya very satisfied. How this place fell under our radar is truly beyond me, but better late than never!
