We spent the 4th of July gallivanting around Providence, RI. During our walkabout, we passed by Hotel Providence and noticed their lovely outdoor seating. But my goal was Haven Brothers Diner. I watched Adam Richman gobble down a Triple Murder Burger in a 2011 episode of Man vs. Food Nation. Thus, it must be tried. We’ll share it, of course.
But it was not meant to be. Who knew area restaurants and even food trucks would be closed? We didn’t. I can’t imagine New York City closing up shop because of July 4th. But Providence is a little big city.
Hotel Providence’s Aspire Seasonal Kitchen, specifically their A-Garden with its outdoor seating suited our needs perfectly – our little dog was with us so we wanted to eat outside. If you click on latter link, the vacant table on the lower left is where we sat (yeah, that’s why I used the link!).
After perusing the menu quickly, hubby ordered their Mussels Fra Diavolo with spicy red sauce that came with grilled focaccia.
I chose their Cajun Chicken Panini with arugula, tomato, onion, aged white cheddar, bacon, goat cheese ranch dressing and truffle fries.
Verdict: The hotel offered valet parking. We were also seated immediately. Our server even brought out a humongous bowl of water for our little dog who decided early on that he was simply going to relax under a chair. The food we ordered? Both were delicious! But during this meal, the clear winner was the mussels. The sauce alone was so tasty! Happily, there were leftover spicy red sauce from hubby’s Mussels Fra Diavolo. We ordered more bread to sop up the sauce, although we waited for a bit because they grilled the focaccia.
Will we eat here again? Just for the Mussels Fra Diavolo alone, we’d definitely be back!
