Danbury Farmers’ Market is now open!

After my volunteer work yesterday, I checked out the Danbury Farmers’ Market that went on in Kennedy Park. Our volunteer tent was in the same park, so it made sense to see the offering at the farmers’ market (actually, I was just curious). I bought a dozen fresh clams (and cooked this), a bunch of scallions and this hot pepper jam I bought for $3.50.

Seems like I’m peeking under the jam’s “skirt”…ha ha. Just wanted to show you guys the ingredients of the jam. Can’t wait to try it!

By the way, during yesterday’s volunteering, I scored a couple of free samples of Miracle-Gro’s Groables (FYI: the Connecticut No Kid Hungry Campaign is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture via their Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)). I haven’t planted the seed pods yet, so I’m excited about it! I got pods for bush beans, watermelon and pumpkin.

Have you tried planting these seed pods? If yes, share your experience please!
